ONtheWAY

—A COMMUNITY PROJECT—

On the Way’ is a weekly publication and collective of writers, designers, and artists working across liminal spaces. Each week a new theme is chosen; works are selected, prepared, and produced in limited editions—never to be printed again. All proceeds go straight back into the next project.

OTW’s Conception…

Born from synchronicity (and the culture of jamming). ONtheWAY came about through the conversation of two people who bonded over a love for the community, the feeling of shared artistic experience, and the desire to build their own. Both natural craftspeople, deeply engrossed in the tactility and presence of physically making with the hands, ONtheWAY unfolded, and week by week it continues to. Taking twists and turns in no expected way, a peculiar rhythm. OTW centred itself around the collective power, a power that only exists when individuals offer (to the community) a taste of what makes them feel alive.

It has found its home (as all great things do) amongst music, amongst writers, painters, sculptors, illustrators, curators, dancers, generators—and it intends to be a weekly publication (for as long as the energy wishes to live for) that shares the written and illustrated works of this collective.

It grows into (when the space is provided) an impromptu exhibition, showcasing the original works featured in the publication. ALWAYS with the opportunity for its jamming musicians to appear from the wind and add that addictive energy to the night that is impossible to forget. And who knows, it could just end up becoming a physical third space community hub art cafe jazz bar writers corner poetry night studio workshop space bookshop spiritual seminar brick and mortar being and be loved for generations to come.
